The Three Levels of Listening

written byErickson Coaching Internationalon 09/04/2021

To have an understanding and to practice the Three Levels of Listening supports leaders, colleagues and team members to listen at a deeper level to ensure the speaker is truly heard. Listening at a Level Two or Level Three is having a Coach Position while listening. It is hearing beyond the words to capture the tone, mood, pace, energy and emotion.

Active Listening is one of the keys to effective communication and transformational conversations. Creating a Coaching Culture is about listening for collaboration and innovation instead of sharing what has always been done. Organizations that have established a Coaching Culture are sure to explain the why behind what is being asked or accomplished.
