After spending many years in leadership and management roles, I commenced the Erickson training back in May last year. The intent was to use the new skills to enable me to better support the Early Talent/millennials in my team. What I became aware of during the training was the impact of the new skills and behaviours on every element of my life – not just the millennials, but their managers and leaders and also very much in my personal life.
So where has this lead me personally and how has this impacted my self-identity? It has helped me examine why people may think the way they do, provided self-awareness in the way I lead and coach and the supreme power of deep listening and powerful questions. I now possess more confidence and competence to coach individuals in a structured, supported and safe way.
Being able to help people become more resourceful is a privilege. I’m excited to be on this new journey!
