The Parent as Coach program provides simple yet powerful techniques that empower you to build a strong, respectful and loving relationship with your child.
Confidently raise and create a deeper connection with your child. Become a parent that knows how to face the digital challenges of today’s world through enhancing your communication and social-emotional skills. Discover key aspects of a child’s brain development and how to use this knowledge to spend meaningful time with your child. Become curious about your child’s learning process and build plans together. Encourage a joyful, loving connection between you and your child through deep listening, powerful questioning and inspiring storytelling.
Who is this program for?
This program is most suitable for parents who raise a child between 0 and 12 years old and who are willing to apply solution-focused approaches to assist their child to develop from an emotionally-centered individual into a confident, possibility-oriented and loving adult. It is for those who want to gain the ability to support and challenge the child in a positive way with communication techniques that allow for sincere and meaningful conversations that enhance a lasting, loving and joyful relationship. It is for those parents that value the time with their child as very precious in life and seek to create a meaningful experience through it for the whole family.
Prior coaching experience is not necessary.
Continuing Coaching Education Accreditation
This course is recognized by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a course supplying a total of 21 Continuing Coaching Education (CCE) units (17 Core Competencies, 4 Resource Development).

Why Parent as Coach?
This course is designed to equip parents with fundamental coaching skills for parent-child conversations. The program is based on the most recent neuroscience discoveries and child-brain development research.
Applying the solution-focused communication as a family standard helps families move confidently forward through life challenges including the teenage period of the child. Utilizing the cutting-edge Solution-Focused approaches on a daily basis helps the child love to learn and explore with curiosity and joy. Children who are educated in a solution-focused manner attain positive habits that support strong characters with ease. This helps them to independently navigate through life on their own later on.

The program curriculum is divided into four levels:
Level 1: Exploring Solution-Focused Parenting
In this first part, you will learn what does it mean to be a solution-focused parent and how the coaching mindset assists parents to navigate through the 21st-century challenges of raising a child. You will discover a helpful map called the ‘Four Areas of Safety’, which sets a solid framework for the rest of the program and is the foundation of any balanced and happy family life. In this section, you will also explore your inner focus within the “Four Areas of Safety”. You will pay attention to your habitual attitudes and how they are impacting your relationship with your child as well as how they are influencing the development of your child’s potential. You will discover how the solution-focused coach approach is contributing like nothing else to your child’s capacity and motivation to learn long-term.
At the beginning of this interactive experience, we also aim to create a space of openness and trust and begin to build a community of parents that are supporting each other during the program and beyond.
Level 2: Fostering Physical Autonomy and Expanding Emotional Awareness
Here you will find ways how to hold space for your child’s own self-empowerment while they are learning important skillsets and life-long habits. Knowing the key aspects of a child’s brain development will help you choose your parenting approach in each stage of your child’s upbringing. It will also assist you to understand your child’s behavior better and consciously choose your response in any given situation. Based on the practical solution-focused tools in this section, you will be able to move past the emotional challenges many parents face with their children such as tantrums, dominance behaviors, and hierarchical responses, and be able to restore peace and joy in your child’s and your own state with ease. In addition, you will apply ways to assist your child to build the habit of positive self-talk and learn how to self-regulate their emotions long-term.
In this section, you will explore the importance of family rituals and traditions and how they help us to raise emotionally stable young people. Finally, you will discover ways to set boundaries, agree on family rules, and organize discipline in a positive manner and still allow your child independence and freedom to choose, thus fostering both autonomy and responsibility.
Level 3: Designing Creative Expression and Meaningful Conversations Opportunities
After exploring the physical-emotional safety you will continue with the many opportunities to allow and foster the creative expression and imagination of your child. You will know how to assist them to set their own goals and achieve those goals with commitment no matter how old they are. You will know how to start conversations that are meaningful, interesting and full of energy, both you and the child will appreciate. At this level, you will be engaging your child's attention and imagination with both powerful questions and inspiring stories. And you will assist your child to make distinctions, start asking solution-focused questions and become storytellers themselves.
In this section, you will learn how to support your child to build strategies for overview of their current learning and growth. You will move beyond the old-school feedback framework and will apply the so-called feed-forward that encourages the child to confidently keep on learning from both successes and failures. By asking the powerful solution-focused questions practiced in this section you will be able to assist your child to develop focus and resilience. Thanks to your coach approach your child will be building strategies for long-term thinking, project management, executive regulation and leadership of self and others. Understanding brain and mind development will help you positively influence your child’s creativity and executive function at the same time. You will learn how to apply an impactful coaching process called a logical level exploration to assist your child to progress and succeed in any project of theirs with clarity, commitment and inspiration with their own projects.
Level 4: Aligning and Balancing Family Life
Families are constantly changing systems. A child is growing up moving from one uncertain situation to the next. So, it might seem challenging to create sustainable long-term visions for the family. In previous sections, the focus is on the physical, emotional and intellectual wellbeing, autonomy and progress of the child according to their age. In this final level of the program you are invited to consider your own, your child’s and your whole family’s long-term best interests. In this final level, you are invited to see and use your strengths and your inner wisdom to build family frameworks that allow for: daily planning of your family priorities; values-based interactions between your family members that layer on trust and respect; and long-term visions of the future for the whole family and each family member.
The parent and family coaching processes in this section energize and draw forth the highest creative and visioning expression of you as parents with your child. Last but not least you will experience the five Erickson principles that are in the core of the program and you will create a strong value-based awareness and commitment to your long-term mindset as a parent that will empower and re-inspire you through the inevitable transformations of your family system.
