Our Global Change Initiatives

Our Global Change Initiatives

Erickson's dedicated effort to facilitate positive transformation through Solution-Focused coach training is further strengthened by our contribution to environmental and other vital local and global initiatives. Discover how some of our projects are creating change in many areas.

Tree Planting

Erickson is proud to be allied with Plant-It 2020, a non-profit tree planting organization that practices the best standards within the industry. Erickson Coaching International’s promise is that we will contribute enough money to Plant-It 2020 to plant 5 trees for every paid enrollment in The Art & Science of Coaching Modules I to IV. The trees planted are true seedlings indigenous to the area and will not be harvested. As a tree matures it can consume 48 pounds of carbon dioxide per year.

In addition to tree planting with Plant-It 2020, to commemorate the 2019 World Game conference in Antalya, Turkey has partnered with TEMA, the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion. The Erickson World Game team has donated 200 saplings to Edirne Subasi Memorial Forest in Turkey to help create a better world for the future generations.

Plastic-Free Initiatives

As part of the global initiative to end plastic pollution, the Erickson World Game team has begun a movement to ensure all Erickson events become plastic-free. Beginning with the elimination of plastic bottles in our training and event rooms in North America, we will be working our way across the globe to remove single-use plastics from all of our training programs.  We are dedicated to a world free of plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on humans, animals, the environment, and our planet.

In honour of Erickson founder, Marilyn Atkinson's birthday in February 2019, the Erickson community came together to raise over $1,400 for a charity close to Marilyn's heart – The Ocean Cleanup. Located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, The Ocean Cleanup's team consists of more than 80 engineers, researchers, scientists and computational modelers working daily to rid the world's oceans of plastic.

Share the Love Day

Share the Love Day is an annual event where the Erickson volunteers within our local community to a charity aligned with our values. In 2018, our team partnered with our local community garden. The garden, envisioned to create community space and social cohesion through participation, education and events, helps to promote food security by supporting neighbourhood organizations and charities with the food grown by our volunteers.
