Coach Training & Certification

The Art and Science of Coaching, an International Coaching Federation Accredited Coach Training Program (ICF ACTP) is a transformational Certificate program designed on the principles of solution focused approaches and classic coaching practices.

Background of the Program

Erickson College coach training staff have taught the Art and Science of Coaching program on 4 different continents to over 4000 students in the last 8 years to date.

This course is currently moving strongly within Canada, USA, Australia, Turkey, China, Czech Republic, Norway, Poland, Scandinavia, Russia, England, and the countries of the former Soviet Union

Erickson Professional Coach Certificate

The Art & Science of Coaching, the primary course of study includes over 125 hours of training covered in 4 Modules, each module being 4 days in length. Online Training of the Art & Science of Coaching takes place over approximately 8 months.

Erickson Certified Professional Coach Certificate

To proceed on towards completion of the International Coach Federation Accreditation, you must take Module V, a follow –up Teleclass/Online integration program of 15 hours plus ongoing Community Learning Calls;

This integration phase takes place during approximately the six months after the primary course has been completed. This meets the programmed learning requirements of the International Coach Federation.

The Program and Its Aims

The primary coach training phase is split into four core training modules based in solid learning objectives, reflective learning methodology, student interaction and ongoing evaluation.

Students will be designated into triad group to experience the ongoing practice of the tools they are learning in the classroom both in terms of onsite and telephone coaching. The experience of the triad grouping has been shown to be highly effective in the mastery of the coaching practice.

The Art & Science of Coaching is:

Experiential: Like the difference between talking about riding a bike and riding a bike, you move from knowing about coaching to experiencing being a great coach. You will leave the program with a foundation of experience at being a great coach.

Intensive: Deep learning happens when you are immersed in hands-on training that allows you to practice coaching.

Solution Focused: Using a solution focused approach gives your clients an alignment between their core values and their goals.

Advanced: You will understand how the brain works and how to increase motivation, plan effectively and accomplish goals, based on relevant distinctions.

Personalized: Learning how to customize the coaching conversation gives you the ability to choose the ideal approach to a conversation with your client.
