Marilyn Atkinson, PhD

Marilyn Atkinson, a Vancouver-based coach, is President of Erickson College International. Marilyn is a coaching visionary, a leader and an author. Known around the world for her sparkling presence and powerful teaching, she is an innovator with impact.

For the past ten years she has been developing both corporate and specialized coach training programs (ICF ACTP The Art and Science of Coaching) in Canada, USA, Scandinavia, Russia, Turkey, Australia, Easter Europe, and other areas.

A former Registered Psychologist, Marilyn is an NLP Master Trainer and specialist in Ericksonian Communications. She began developing formal business coach training programs in the mid 90's. She travels to Russia and Europe four times per year to lead three-week training programs packed with hundreds of participants.

Her work emphasizes cross-cultural directions, and focuses on a revitalized self-development coaching approach. Through her work in developing coaches and coach trainers throughout North America and Europe, over 5000 coaches have been trained in the last eight years in The Art and Science of Coaching. Her programs have been used to instigate brand new policies in the field of education, social work and drug and alcohol treatment.

She has led various types of corporate and leadership training technologies. A new approach to education has been developed by individuals who count themselves her students, and a well documented training program, Inspiring Children, was developed for teachers based on her work. Erickson College programs in coach training are in place in 18 cities worldwide.

Marilyn's influence is especially strong in the countries of the former Soviet Union, where she is termed "the Tony Robbins of Russia". Audiovisual training programs featuring Marilyn, and several books which outline her methodologies, are part of the curricula at numerous university departments in this region.
